How We Approach Website Projects: From Discovery to Launch

By Miguel 24 July 2025

Building a new website can feel like a big mystery, especially if it’s your first time working with a web agency. That’s why we want to pull back the curtain and walk you through our process step by step. From initial discovery to the moment we launch your new site, here is what it’s like to work with us.

1. Discovery: Understanding you and your goals

We start every project by getting to know you, your business, your audience and your goals. We will ask questions like:

  • What does your business do?
(You would be surprised how much clarity this brings.)
  • Who is your target audience?
We want to understand your real customers, not just demographic buzzwords.
  • What is the main purpose of the website?
Is it to drive leads? Sell products? Establish credibility? Book appointments?
  • What’s working and not working with your current website (if you have one)?
We use this insight to avoid past pain points and amplify what’s already working.

2. Site Planning

Before jumping into design, we map out how the site will be structured. This ensures every page serves a purpose and is easy to navigate. This step focuses on the user experience (UX) how visitors will navigate, find information and take action. We want your site to be both intuitive for your users and strategic for your business.

This involves developing a sitemap that outlines the website’s structure and acts as its foundation. It also includes mapping out the key content for each page. The sitemap helps our digital strategists define user journeys toward conversion goals, ensuring the site is effective and easy to navigate for the user.

3. Design: Where the Magic Happens

We use your visual identity or help you create one and apply it to designs that match your tone, audience and goals. This includes:

  • Colour schemes, typography, spacing
  • Consistent use of imagery or iconography
  • Mobile-first design principles

Feedback & revisions

We provide design mockups via Figma or Adobe XD, giving you an interactive view of how your website will look. During this phase, we’ll walk you through the design and ask:

  • What’s working well?
  • What feels off or needs adjusting?
  • Does the design match your brand’s voice and personality?

We’ll adjust the design based on your feedback and we won’t move forward until you’re completely happy with how it looks.

4. Development: Bringing It to Life

Once the design is approved, we build your site using modern, scalable code. This stage includes:

4.1 Front-end development

The design is translated into responsive, accessible code. Layouts, animations and interactive elements are built to look great and work seamlessly across all devices.

4.2 Back-end development

Most of our websites are built on WordPress, which offers a flexible and user-friendly content management experience. When a project calls for something more custom or complex we may use Laravel framework. For Ecommerce sites, we often use Shopify/WooCommerce for its powerful store management and scalability.

We configure everything to make managing your content intuitive whether it’s updating pages, adding product or publishing blog posts.

4.3 Performance & SEO optimization

We optimise all assets and code to ensure fast load times, strong SEO performance and a smooth user experience. This includes compressed images, semantic HTML, meta tags, and structured data where applicable.

5. Testing & Revisions

We test your site across devices and browsers, checking for bugs, broken links and performance.

You will also get a chance to review everything. Once the main features and design are ready, we will give you access to a private test version of your site. This lets you see the progress, share feedback and make sure everything looks and works as expected before launch.

6. Launch: Go Live!

Once you are happy and everything is tested, we launch your website and handle all the technical details for you.

We also offer post-launch support which is also including training on how to update your content/pages.

A good website is not just about looks, it’s about building something that supports your business. Whether you are just starting out or ready to level up, our process is built to guide you every step of the way.

Whether you’re launching a new business, refreshing an outdated website, or building something from the ground up, we are here to help.
