Our Favourite Design Tools

By Karlis 29 July 2025

At We Kreate, design is not just what we do it’s how we think. The tools we use every day shape how we create, collaborate and bring ideas to life for our clients. And while tools don’t make the designer, the right ones can definitely elevate the work.

Here is a behind the scenes look at the design tools we are loving right now and why they have earned a permanent place in our creative workflow.

Figma for our digital whiteboard

If we had to choose one tool to live in, it would be Figma. It is where most of our design work happens, from wireframes to high-fidelity prototypes.

Figma makes real-time collaboration effortless. Whether we are working internally or sharing concepts with clients, everyone can see updates live, leave comments and give feedback without endless email threads.

It is also incredibly versatile. We use it for everything from initial moodboards and UX flows to final UI design and dev handoff. Plugins, design systems, auto layout, it all just works.

Adobe Creative Cloud for the heavy lifting

While we have shifted a lot of design work into Figma, Adobe still plays a key role in our creative toolbox especially for branding and content-heavy projects.

Adobe tools we use:

  • Adobe XD is used more for static site visuals for its efficiency and simplicity and also great for collaborating with other developers.
  • Illustrator is our go to for crafting logos, icon sets and any vector based design work. Its precision and scalability make it ideal for shaping brand assets that need to work across all sizes and platforms.
  • InDesign comes into play for layout-intensive projects like print brochures, posters or multi-page documents. It is our preferred tool when structure and typography need to shine on paper.
  • Photoshop is still the industry standard for photo editing, compositing and visual refinement. Whether it is retouching images for a website or creating detailed graphic assets, it gives us the control and depth we need.

We use Adobe when the work demands pixel-perfect control and creative freedom beyond layout design.

Sketching on paper – where it all begins

Before we open any design software, we often start with something much simpler: a notebook and pen.

Sketching on paper lets us think fast and freely. There are no grids, no plugins, no rules, just raw ideas. Whether it is a quick layout concept, a navigation flow or rough page structures, drawing helps us map out our thinking before refining it digitally. It is where some of our best ideas are born.

This step is especially useful during client discovery and planning sessions. It allows us to visualise possibilities without getting stuck in detail too soon and it keeps creativity flowing in a natural, instinctive way.

Final Thoughts

We believe in using the right tool for the right stage of the process and sometimes, that means jumping between pen and paper, Figma and Photoshop in a single day. These tools help us work with clarity, move quickly and always keep the end user in mind.

Whether you are planning a new site, refining your brand or just curious about how creative teams work we are always happy to share more about how we do what we do.
